Description

RSM6G15 — 140A Dual-Phase TLVR Smart Power Block

The RSM6G15 is a high-current, dual-phase TLVR Smart Power Block designed for demanding AI, GPU, FPGA, ASIC, server, and high-performance computing power applications. Operating from a 2.5V to 15V input, the RSM6G15 delivers up to 140A continuous output current, with two 70A phases that can operate independently or in parallel.

By integrating power MOSFETs, smart gate drivers, inductors, current sensing, and temperature sensing into a compact power stage, the RSM6G15 simplifies the implementation of high-current voltage regulators while supporting the power density and thermal performance required by next-generation compute systems.

Native TLVR Support for Fast Transient Response

Modern AI processors and accelerators can produce extremely fast changes in load current, placing significant demands on the voltage-regulator system. The RSM6G15 features native TLVR support, enabling fast transient response and reduced output capacitance for high-current rails with rapidly changing loads.

With switching frequencies up to 2MHz, the RSM6G15 provides a highly integrated power-stage solution for compact, high-performance Vcore power architectures.

140A Dual-Phase Architecture

The RSM6G15 integrates two 70A power phases within a single device. The phases can operate independently or in parallel to deliver up to 140A continuous output current, providing flexibility for a wide range of high-current power architectures.

This dual-phase integration reduces the number of discrete power components required around the processor while supporting the high power density needed for AI accelerators, GPUs, CPUs, FPGAs, and ASICs.

Integrated Current and Temperature Sensing

High-current AI power systems require visibility into both electrical and thermal operating conditions. The RSM6G15 provides integrated current and temperature sensing for each phase, enabling the power-control system to monitor operating conditions and manage power delivery more effectively.

Integrated protection includes VIN and VCC undervoltage lockout (UVLO), high-side overcurrent protection, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, and overtemperature protection (OTP).

Designed for High-Density, Thermally Challenging Systems

Delivering more current in less PCB area makes thermal performance an increasingly important part of the overall power architecture. The RSM6G15 combines its integrated power stages and inductors in a thermally enhanced 10mm × 9mm × 5mm 72-pin LGA package, providing a compact solution for space-constrained, high-current designs.

The device operates across a −40°C to 125°C temperature range and achieves up to 89% peak efficiency at VIN = 13.5V and VOUT = 0.8V.

Scalable Vcore Power with Reed Multiphase Controllers

When paired with Reed multiphase controllers, the RSM6G15 provides a building block for scalable, high-density Vcore power delivery. The combination of intelligent multiphase control, native TLVR support, integrated sensing, and high-current power stages enables designers to consider electrical performance, power density, transient response, and thermal performance as part of the complete power solution.
